black and silver

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
2 is usually a bad number, silvers are the most peaceful specie of arowanas but i think 2 is still a bad number. i think 4 or 6 are less risky...

I have a Black and a Silver ;)

The silver earned his life!!! Finally I left the lights on for two weeks and the Black 7" smaller left him alone... It was a rough.. Really rough beginnning though.

2 is not a good figure to start with. But then again, there's never a definate answer to this question regarding keeping them together.

:iagree: I've seen it done, and they got along fairly well, but the owner got them both at about 7-8 inches and they were put into a brand new empty 180 gal tank at the same time. Even though they normally swim throughout the entire tank, each fish seemed to have claimed his/her own end of the tank and are there most of the time so maybe that helped a bit.

I personally don't have any experience with keeping multiple arowanas at once, so I can't really say much else. =/

Got it. Sounds like it may be a lot of stress and it may not even work out in the end. Thanks.

I keep 2 silvers(13") with a black(20")... no problem

As mentioned, it can be successful, but highly unlikely to be successful.
