Black aro in a 250 g

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^^^^ what they said. They like the extra space to turn around so a 30 inch wide tank would be okay and its long enough. 8 feet long would be better and give your aro more room to swim

An adult black arowana deserves to have a tank that is at least 3x the aro's length. The tank you described would only be good for an arowana up to 24" long.

I currently have a m/f in a 450 gallon for at least the last 3 years and they are now 24" and growing. I will let you know in a couple more years if the tank was big enough but a 250 gallon probably won't be big enough long term.

250 isnt big enough for life. as brian stated it will be good till they are 24", a 96Lx30Wx24T (300G) is bare minimum for one of these fish with bigger always being better. I bought a 360 so i could keep my blacks for life =]
