Hi all!
I juz got a 14" black arowana..intending to keep it with my big plecos, silver dollars and peacock bass..
one thing i am worried about, the peacock bass are such voracious and fast eaters..will they out-compete my aro for food? the aro has been slow and leisurely in taking his worms..if the peacock basses go in, it will surely have no chance..
any tips to share regarding this issue for those of you who have kept both together before? thanks! :D

dont know couldnt tell ya, i dont recommend putting any fish in with an aro, ive made two attempts to keep aros so far the first one was a jardini(6-7") with two small texas cichlids(1-2") and the aro was killed, then just recently i bought the most beautiful 9" silver ive seen, it had bright orange fins, very nice coloration and was a champion eater, unfourtanetly i messed up and put him in with a 7" or so clown knife and the clown ended up killing the aro the 3rd night i put them in:(....boy was i mad........ i got a refund for the sliver tho because the guy at the fish store suggested to throw the clown in and said they would do great together. All this makes me so mad, i really want a community tank involoving a nice aro :swear:

Aros likes to eat crickets and mealworms. Peacock bass likes to eat live food, worms, and raw shrimp. I would feed the bass raw shrimp first, and then put mealworms, or crickets for the aro to eat.

thanks guys for the advice! non of my fellas are aggressive to the aro yet...prob is how to ensure all are well fed..for now guess i got to entice the pbass with some feeders...

well, my aro & PB eat frozen shrimps. i purposely drop the shrimp in front of my aro, one by one. ten the rest i dump into the tank for the PB to finish off. :D
