black aro pellet training?

got a black aro at probalby about 14-15", is currently feeding on crickets but I definitely want it weaned onto pellets, should I just do that occasional starving method?

try getting him on frozen food first before pellet training him. I heard is not easy to get them off a cricket diet.

Try introducing freeze dried shrimp at the same time you feed the crickets. He may not take it the first time but he will soon recognize it as food. Then once he starts taking the shrimp wean him off the crickets and you can start adding other foods to his diet. I suggested starting with the shrimp because my aro chose thoae over everything else

i have been keeping aros for over 20 years and fed over 20 aros on giant meal worms they are great as you feed the worms on anything you want pellets carrot apple cucumber flake food most of which a aro will never eat
and a aros main food in the wild will be insects

Arowanas are insectivores in the wild, mine's doing great on giant meal worms, bullfrogs and cut prawn
