My new black aro is swimming with the rear of its tail pointed up and the top fins are down. just wondering if this is something to watch out for, i have only had him for a few days. thanks

not unheard of or unseen.. beyond that is she eating or acting normal? could something be scaring her? does she swimm like that when lights are off?

Probably just getting used to the tank. IME it takes longer for blacks to feel at "home" than silvers.

thanks, i have offered some floating cichlid pellets, but it hasnt even looked at them yet. ill try some frozen foods. thanks

he is swimming around fine and doesnt act stressed. hopefully he will snap out of it.

I would just kick back for a few days and leave him alone. Don't even feed. On the 2nd or 3rd day try some live feeders. If you don't want to feed feeders, try crickets or mealworms.

agree with the crickets and mealworms. if he doesnt take those, i should be worried. mine simply goes crazy for those. you can also try some worms, inject them with air so they float and throw them in.
