Are baby blacks considered more fragile than silvers simply because its harder to get them to eat? Or is it other things as well like being more succeptible to disease or sudden death due to water parameters? My new baby black is a great eater and I want to know if I'm in the clear.

IMO they both require the same care and requirements. Just cause you aro is a good eater does not mean your in the clear, take special care of this little guy.

If it's eating then your doing good, what's it's diet?

Good! Crushed up Hikari Aro Foodsticks and Freeze Dried Blood worms is his diet now. I want to make sure he is used to the foodsticks as that will be his main diet as he grows. I also intend to feed gut-loaded crickets when he get big enough.

He loves to eat...I'm almost afraid I'm going to over-feed him but I do want him to grow fast. How much food is a healthy amount for one day??

depending on how young it is, 4 feedings a day would be fine. When they are really young, you need to feed them alot and frequently. As they grow, you can cut down to 2 feedings a day.

OK thanks, but how much per feeding??

it depends what it is your feeding. if it's aro sticks, maybe 3 cut up per feeding. If it's freeze dried blood worms, a generous pinch should do it.

That seems like an awful lot for a little three inch long fish but I will take your word for it. I wanna see this little guy grow as quickly as possible without it being bad for him.

Thanks for the advice!!
