Hey guys i have had a 10" blue for 1 month now and i have him in a 150 and he seems to like only one side of the tank and does something odd alot recently when i initially walk down to see the tank in the basement.

He sort of sits on top of the powerhead with his tail facing the front of the tank and his head curled facing across the tank. never seen this from a silver, iv always had silvers be so active from day 1 and agressively eating and mine just slowely goes up to krill and swallows them and the chews them a bit before finishing them off. is he just being lazy or is there an issue with him. i have two rock aerators in the tank because its an overflow tank and be doesnt seem to mind those although he does avoid going through them. But is there somethin possibly wrong with his non aggressive attitude im used to with aros. He does eat well but does not like feeders it seems so far just bugs and frozen krill. He never is doing this lazy behavior when the lights are off just when i see him the first i enter the aquarium room. The powerhead doesnt seem to be too strong either cuz since its a 150gal it needs some flow in the tank and he seems to like it when he is swimming around.

Let me know what you think guys. Thanks!

might just be his personality. I started out with 5 and when they were around 10" they were super active and fed very aggressively. I sold 2 , had 1 jump out while I was on vacation, and had 1 die from stress when I moved. The one I have now is very mellow when he feeds. He just goes up the sticks, opens his mouth and lets them flow in.

so i should be worried about him resting on the powerhead. should i maybe move it so he cant fit on top of it lol? just not typical for me with any of the arows iv had but hes so pretty i wish he would get a bit bolder and start swimming in the big tank he rules over

Mine started out very shy, even swam to the bottom like he was hiding. Now he's over 2 feet and nothing bothers him. Always the first one to feed and trying to swim through the tank at me when I walk in the room with food. There's really nothing you can do but wait and see how your aro turns out. I think if he has a hiding spot he likes thats good and you should let him be. In a month or so he will be to big for that spot anyway.
