No kidding! There is a LFS near me that quoted $30 for a black, but they haven't had one on a list for the last 2 years. Tough to say, who knows they might have a good deal for ya though, so follow through.

I'll definately follow through on that one, see where it gets me.

I asked around at a different lfs in the same area and they quoted the $400 range. They said they wouldn't carry the small ones anymore and didn't mess with the large ones all that much due to the fact that he said they weren't healthy and usually died on them.

They do come into season in sept, but given time to then get good quality ones into our stores you're looking at october for one. My lfs says to look for October should I want a black, they quote me around $100 for a 5-6" incher, usually the fish cost more than the quote. I'm still waiting though, so they are hard to find. I'll get the new available fish list this tuesday (tomorrow) If I find out more about blacks, I'll let you know!
