black aro stressed

Hers the situation my black aro is stressed and on a hunger strike for over a week she is about 20'' great fish and my pride and joy.She is in a 240g with dats and a few others, the problem is my new wide bar13'' just charging around the tank being a huge dat.My aro is swimming fine but her breathing is labored and not eating stressed i am keeping the lights of and i have introduced some floating plastic plants all my parameters are great and i have amazing filtration and aeration .The only tank with available space is a 55g and i don't want to move my dat so i am between a rock and a hard place .Do i stay the course and hope my aro gets over the fear of the wide bar,or do i cram the wide bar in the 55g?:confused:ANY FEEDBACK IS APRECEATED P.S The wide bar isn't aggressive he just swims around and bumps into the aro and she isn't cool with having a large fish in her space.
 
you might just sell the widebar. you can get a good amount of money for one, esp. that size.
 
I agree, sell one of them before one ends up dying. One dies and you have one less fish and one less moneys, but if you sell one you have one less fish, but one more moneys.

Can't argue with that logic.
 
I know the wide bar is Worth big green i gust paid the green to get him and shipped from NY, what a hassle .I am giving it a few more days the plants seam to help almost dividing the tank, everything was cool for two months then signs of stress started. Started looking for a 180g to move the dat now my wife is showing signs of stress at the thought of another tank.
 
So i moved the wide bar and my aro still gasping and using a quarter of the tank i thought she would eat this morning no go this sucks coming up on two Weeks's doing small water changes every other day and turning the lights on for a few hours in the morning ,maybe she just needs a little more time .I have two fx5 1 pro 3 power heads at water level for lots of aeration trying cricket, shrimp, silver side, sashimi grade salmon she eats beter than i do, any feedback is appreciated.
 
Day two without the wide bar still gasping and no food i hope i don't loose her . I just removed some abs black pipe i had put in the tank 3 weeks ago for my loaches thought it may be a problem at this point i am just shooting in the dark. feed back is appreciated.
 
I bumped up the temp 83 84 and salt, lowered the water level to increase aeration and added some backwater extract. I have noticed some black streaks in the fins i have never seen this before almost like black veins. Was he being poisoned by the black abs plastic pipe, no other fish are affected i just did a 30% water change she seams more active.

:cry::cry::cry:R.I.P Seamed beter this morning alert gasping very little then acted like she had a hart failure went into convulsions and went belly up.I got her breathing again but it was no use 20'' beautiful aro dead .what do you think caused this
