I got 2 black aros from Rich on saturday. Put them in my growout tank with my other black aro. All of them are about 12"
MOnday night, I started to notice that the 2 new aros were moving very slow and not very actice. I let it be as is...I figured they're a bit stress with the journey and new environment. Sometimes they sit at the bottom of the tank, it wasn't until yesterday morning when I woke up that I saw both aros were swimming with the tail pointing UP at 45 degree angle in relation to the head.
Tanks Parameters were all normal, 0,0,20 PPM 7.0 PH (with PH monitor)
I got home last night, was about to do WC, I noticed both new aros acted really strange. The 45 degree angle posture was really apparent and they started to swim really slow...I also notice some torn fins and tails. My first thought was my old Aro was beating them down. So I separate them.
Started to raise the temp from 80 to 82 degrees, I added melafix for torn fins and tails. Added some ketapang leaves and another air stones to increase dissolved O2.
I also lowered the water in the main tank to about 5", since I suspecting a swim bladder issues.
This morning, one of the aro died. I also noticed a clear whitish worm like coming out of his anus. The worm (string) is about 1-2" long.
Wadya guys think it is ? I couldnt take any picture as it came out pretty blurry.
Internal infection ? What should I do next ? prazi pro ?
I lost one and I really don't want to to lose another one..
