I have two 1.5 foot black arownas that live in a 210. Water is good, ph is about 6.5. Im running a sump system with activated carbon and seachems matrix and bioballs. One of them had his lateral line turn completly black. Only on one side of his body, have done water changes and added salt, but nothing. Can't seem to find anything on this one. Please help.

Is there any change in the aro's behaviour or appetite?

No he is eating just fine and just as active. Im pretty confused, been doing every other day water changes, but my water is perfect anyway. And I just got done treating with and ant bacterial and an anti parasite treatment (paragon) about a month ago. And I dont feed life feeders. aaargh

if he is fine then just leave him be. Keep him under observation.

just keep him well fed and his water clean. Too much water change can be harmful too.

dont worry abt it.

Yeah I hope its nothin. Hard as hell to get blacks up here. Im kinda stuck with the water changes. I had to change out my whole sump system recently due to a leak tidepool. SO I dont ahve any bioligical filtration right now, plue a fully stocked tank.

u had better get that bio up asap if u have a fully stocked tank.

use some bacterial additives if needed like nutrafin cycle.

Ive been addind seachems stability and cycle, its just going to take a while for the bacteria to grow on my bio balls and seachem matrix. Its a heavy bioload anyway you look at it. Which is why this is going to kick ass soon as I get my bioligical going, lol. No change today, strange.......
