Black Arowana & Blue arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Officially I think Black Arowanas and Blue Arowanas are considered the same species an are just color variations of the same species. There are two at Exotic Aquarium in Sacramento California that are about the same size and the Black is (12-14 inches) is about $300 and the Blue (14-16) is at about $200 if my memory serves me right. As far which one is the best Quality that is personal preference.

The two other pictures you posted I wish I could buy either one.

IMO blue and black are actually the same. The only different is the tank light. One is under moon light/blue light and other is just plain. Test out the lights and you'll know what i mean.

wanted to ask you guys,
buying an black arowana at 4 inches.
is it gonna be tough? i read that once the black arowanas hit about 6-7
inches, they're as easy to take care of as the silver arowanas.
so anyone have any advice for black arowanas at 4 inches?
i dont want to purchase 2 of them and lose them... etc,
help ? haha thanks guys,

black and blue arowanas are the same species and snow arowana is same as platinum arowana and in the pictures, its platinum silver aro(South American) and a platinum jardini(Australia),

Black and blue are the same. There is no color variation, just different levels of maturity.
