My Black Arowana (about 6") is loving Hikari floating Cichlid pellets. I can't find any of the Hikari Food Sticks with the Arowana on the package, so I have to wait for an online order to come.

In the meantime, is it better that I have him eating cichlid pellets as opposed to live guppies?

I can also try frozen krill if you guys think it would be healthier for him.

Thanks.

ya, if it's eating pellets, don't worry about the sticks. I would mix in some other pellets and forms of food, though if you're not. However, you should be able to find the sticks locally.

that's great. be thankful that you got your arowana to eat pellets. great job. your arowana will be fine. pellet make for a great staple diet, but i'd mix in other items as an occassional treat. try silverides, tilapia, krill, shrimp, etc . . .

Great, thanks guys.

thats fine and yeah give it treats like MP,beef heart, mealworm, night crawlers etc

Mine eats pellets, its no biggie, just give it some treats once in a while like mentioned ^

I occasionally feed my jardini hikari chiclid gold (floating type) and he loves it.

I checked and found the fat content is more in chiclid food as compared to the arowana food sticks but that does not seem to be a big nuisance.
