In God We Trust
do black arowana live long term in home setups? I had one several years back and it suddenly died. Thinking of trying another but not sure I should give it another shot.

I had one for a while but he just up and stopped eating for a month and died

If you can keep rays you got black aros no problem. I have had several, sold along the way. Another member had some big ones. Shedd in Chicago had a really big one. With proper care you can expect many years out of you arowana.

with proper care why wouldnt it live long term? i had one i kept
for almost 12 years and was about 3' long, fat and healthy until
my ex at the time threw a huge steel bolt at me missing me by a
hair and hitting the glass tank behind me... aro landed on a shard
of glass getting badly cut and ended up dying 2 days later...

Wow, that's a crazy story. I've had some crazy ex's, so I can relate.
