Do Black arowanas get drop eye? I kno that silvers get it. What do you think? Thank's in advance. mic

Well with all the research i did todat it look's like no they don't get drop eye only the silver arowana get's this! If im wrong please let me know!! Thank's
In the 5 years I had my Black Aro, he never got droop eye. I am not sure if it is just a silver aro thing, but most of the Silvers I have seen have had it, and of all of the Blacks I have seen have not. I am sure there is someone out there (GUPPY) that can answer the question with more than what I have.....

Yes blacks are occasionally seen with drop eye but it is less common. The most vast guessed reason for drop eye seems to be breeding. The fish are being inbred and mass produced. Blacks are considered rarer and are usually wild caught where drop eye isn't an issue.
I know that most silvers will get droopy eyes. But i just bought a 7" silver and i'm trying to prevent it from getting drop eye since it is still a juvi. I have balls floating on the surface of water, which should have them keep looking upwards cause they are always in search for food. I know that the droop eyes is in the genes but i think it will definately help somewhat.
i think that breeding is the main cause of droop eye. makes sense, because there are alot of surface fish out there that don't get it. i've never seen blacks or jardi's that have it, and they are hard to come by, silver are just about everywhere now (still my favorite), i've seen acouple asians that have it to.
