Just a quick question; black arowanas like this one:

Osteoglossum_ferreiraiAQJuv.jpg

Grow up to be like silvers, only with darker fins? Just curious since I've never seen an adult that looks like this....

Basically, but the Black Aro also has a more tapered look to it. Not as robust. And their fins have a bluish sheen to them.

here's some pics, my 18" black aro

yeah all black aro's are wild caught so they are less prone to drop eye. and they have a more blue hue to them when they get older versus the red or pink. I recently got a 16"er from rich that still has amazing color. still kinda beat up but eating well so he'll be fine.

really dought that being wild caught has anything to do with DE. 99% of silver aros over 18" have DE, so are you saying that 99% of silver aros are captive bred?

and where did you learn that fact?

Observation, there is only one large silver here on MFK that doesn't have DE, it is owned by akskirmish. You can search the internet a maybe find a few more but this still will not increase the percentage enough to support the Wild Caught Drop Eye Theory.
