black arowana

You'll have a hard time finding a black aro that small.

There's a place in the valley that occassionally gets them at a pretty small size. They still have the yolk sac attached. I haven't seen them getting any in awhile though.

it sure is hard to find a black arowana for sale in CA... anyone know one thats about 5 inches max? i have seen the larger ones but im looking for the smaller ones so i can "train" it

try kory at under the amazon

they're even harder to raise than baby silvers...:(

Not sure if this is true, but I have heard that black arows will be very difficult to find in the small "black phase" due to new regulations that disallow the culling of baby blacks. I think they have to be out of their black phase to harvest now. I might be wrong and if I am, I am sure someone will correct my statement.
Baby blacks are very hard to find, but a nice 9-12" specimen is a more likely candidate. What kind of "training" are you referring to?

Well - if you guys find a couple 8-12" ones in CA- let me know. I've been looking too. lol.

I remember 10 years ago - LFS had them in the tankloads - in the black phase, for no more than $15 each. sigh. In fact - they were actually cheaper than the silvers back then.
