I have an opportunity to get a black arowana which I have wanted for a long time. My question is I heard that the black arowanas are finicky and can be hard to take care of. I had a Jardini arowana a couple years ago and while I was in the hospital (3 weeks). My kids FaceTimed me and showed me he died and was scratched. I assumed he got spooked by one of them and hit something hard and died. But what I’m trying to get at is I had absolutely np taking care of him (2years) and he hate like a pig. So does anyone know if it’s true that black arowanas are hard to keep. Thanks for any info.

I agree with feeling2good feeling2good the care of the Black Arowana very similar to the care of a Silver Arowana both require a large aquarium although the Black Arowana is smaller.

Ok thanks, they are a bit pricey and dont feel like forking our that kind of cash if there is gonna be continued problems. I do like them because of their color and they are a bit smaller than the silvers. The owner of the pet store still won’t allow them to be sold cause he said they are still not eating like they should. But I’ll assume it’s because he has only had them for about a week. But ty for the replies.
