Black Background?

I like black backgrounds, as a lot do.. I do however like blue background if you have tan sand..

I just feel like having all the plumbing and wiring visible can ruin the aesthetic of an otherwise beautiful tank. I painted the back of my 180 before I set it up and it was really easy. Now, since I am not particularly coordinated, I taped a black background to my 90 gallon to avoid a mess. Fortunately, my 55 gallon acrylic tank has the black background already built in.

Bottom line, whether its black, blue, or a picture of a bunch of tree roots, I really think it makes the tank overall look cleaner.

I use black construction paper from the dollar store.

I heard if you use paint you have to primer it first otherwise it wouldn't stick as good or something like that, so I was suggested to use black spray paint...was $2 for a can and thats all I needed for my 65g. It looks great and is way cheaper than a background you tape on and water can get inbetween it and the glass.

I used.black enamel. Worked perfectly.
