hi mfk members i need info on true black barred silver dollar. anyone have pics of what they look like when little to adult. what the price and how much r they going for in the US.

search for Emperor Blue/Red Hook (aka EBH and ERH) or Myleus schomburgkii and you should find plenty of info here

I'm not aware of any recent imports, but there could be. I got mine at a small size last year (maybe 2 years ago, idk) and the biggest one is about 7 inches or so now. I don't have any pictures to share right now, though. They come up for sale here pretty often at larger sizes.

thanks for the info pwmin. I'll check the site out. i had a place that were trying to past strips as black barred. i knew it didnt seem right. how much did your co$t. if you dnt mind me askin.

View attachment 712104They are pricey. Expect 40 dollars for a 4" fish.....more for larger. Here is a pic of my thin bar! Bad pic I know....She is about 5.5" now

that a fair price for a rare fish, i see people asking hundreds for their. i guess at that price they mush be full grown adult or for a group of them. hey guys do your nibble and eat on your plants?

I dont keep real plants....The fake palm type leaves in my tank are covered with "kiss" marks from the SD eating algae. My largest is a 7"-8" red hook female....does not sound very big but it is! They would destroy a forest of plants. They almost never stop trying to eat!

I know they eat plants just never saw one munch on plant with my own eyes. Too bad I can keep my ferns and anubias with them.
