I have a 12 inch black bullhead cat in my 240gal. his mouth is all jacked up like hes been running into rocks over and over again. so i changed the whole setup and made him a hiding space out of driftwood. but hes still jacked up. ive had him for 4 years and i grew him from a half inch baby and i want to know if he is dying of old age (what is their lifespan?), is he stressed, or whats happening. i feed him massivore and market shrimp. Please help my cat!

try getting a couple live feeders, he might be trying to eat the rocks, i had a bullhead who tried that for 3 weeks until i threw some feeders in there and he stopped for good, plus the chase may give him some good excersise. does he have any tank mates? post a pic of him and you might get some better feed back... what kind of substrate do you have?

i dont have a pic at the moment. he has sum oscars as company. they never interact with eachother. substrate is a very fine gravel, or a very course sand.

could be dragging its mouth on the bottom looking for food i have seen my yellow do this and it tore its lips some...

he may be really hungry, try giving him more and a wider variety of food, how often do u feed him?

does it seem to be getting any better?
