Black Colour Arowana

Does anybody know if pure black coloured arowanas exist? because black arowanas arent actually black right?

They are only black when juveniles. As they approach adult size, their coloration becomes increasingly silver. There are no "Black Arowanas" that remain black as adults. I try to refer to them as "Ferreirai" Arowanas.

Only melanistic aros are pure black. Asian, silver and jardini are the only known aros with melanistic form.

i have never heard of a black silver aro before. if only there was a better pic of the aro. it is hard to tell if it is pure black.

I've only heard of a melanistic silver but I never knew there was a melanistic asian and Jar

I've seen a melanistic asian in the net not too long ago but I'm too lazy to do a search right now.
