I started noticing my male Blacl Convict started chasing and beating up its female, when they were just fine the day before! Female looks pretty plump, about ready to lay eggs (For the third time)

Does anyone have a reason why this is happening?

That's pretty typical cichlids behavior
The male is trying to entice her to spawn.

Try some dither fish for him to unleash some of his aggression on, so she's not getting the brunt of it. Depending on the pairs size, you could use Giant Danios or Silver Dollars.

You might try to separate them for awhile and see how it goes. I have to agree with the others, as long as there's no serious damage.

There doing fine, I seporated the male for a while, now both of them are finger chasers! Everything is all good now guys thanks!
