Black Convict cichlids

ive been told to breed them for feeders but i have not seen any vids of payara or gatf eating them.
any of you use convicts as feeders?

my armatus can eat 20 or more gold fish a week easy. getting old

IMO I feel big convicts have broad bodies and sharp fins. Maybe I am just being over cautious.
I always am able to get practically free Convicts from my LFS and choose to stay with Tilapia/Mahi stuffed with many things, silversides, sardines.
