I have bred convicts for a long time, and for the first time, Ive sold the parents, and kept some babies as breeding stock.
So, i put 4 black convicts in my 55 gal, and i figured chances, 50 50 female - 50 50 male. OK well i think i have either 3 females 1 male or 4 females...
Because the one i think is male, has ALL the characteristics of a male, Long pointy fins, hes got a elongated body, hes more aggressive then the others.
But there is one thing. He has orange all over his side, just like a female... I see he/she with another female, hiding in the cave protecting it, but isn't it REALLY rare for males to have that type of coloration?
