My redbreasted sunfish killed my black crappie. I was in the middle of trying to get another tank to move my sunfish in when it happened. This is really upsetting because it was one of my favorite fish. I almost had him on pellets too. :(. I think I'm Gunna get another but not till summer most likely until I get another tank for my redbreast.

All the red breasted I've put in my tank have been really aggressive towards tank mates. Crappies are really only aggressive eaters IMO. Lucky for me I can catch them up the road for free and pick one with a good personality.

Redbreasts, Greens and Dollar sunfishes are the most aggressive sunfish; I had the same thing happen when I tried to put tankmates in with a pair of Green sunfish in a 38g.....the tank was too small for that aggressive of a sunnie to cohabitate with other fish.
