I just got almost all off my fish on dry pellet food sticks including my 2-3in warmouth who would only eat bloodworms for a while. The only fish that is not eating the pellets are my black crappie. The main food I use for all of my fish in my larger tank are Hikari floating food sticks, freeze-dried krill, and a frozen cube of freshwater frenzy (I think that is what it is called. It is the one with water sprite or some other aquatic plant). I feed them the frozen food once every one to two weeks. All of the other days I feed them it is the food sticks. My black crappie is about 3-4in. I do not know if size matters.

What type of pellets should I try? What should I do to get it to eat the food sticks?

Good luck with that because crappies do not take pellets very well.

I know that they are hard to start on pellets. I wal just wondering if anyone on here has had an experience getting them on pellets and wondering how I can try. I will not let the black crappie starve himself to death, but if he does not eat the pellets he might get food every so often so my other fish do not go back to just frozen food. I was supprised how hard it was to get the warmouth on pellets but I did eventually got him on pellets. All of my fish including my lake chubsucker feed at the surface on the pellets. Even my black bass was easy to get on pellets.
