Is there such thing as I have a near all black type of amph. Getting darker as it gets bigger.

Amphilophus zaliosus is known as dark amp, but color variation in most Amps seems to be very common rather than the exception.

is that a spot on his caudal fin? if there's a spot there its possibly a hybrid.
