Has anyone ever used this as a substrate before? It's the only sand blasting sand I can find. I want to use it as a substrate but I don't know much about it. It's supposed to be low silca.

Thanks. For whatever reason when I searched here on MFK I only got threads with black tahitian sand. I did do some google searching and found that this isn't sand at all. It's coal slag. So I'm wondering if that had anything to do with the problems the OP in the thread you gave me was having. I like the look of it and the price is right I just don't want to be having to buy a UV sterilizer in a couple of weeks. I think I'll pm that guy.
Hey post here what you find out. I liked the look of that sand. It probably is cheaper than estes and tahitian moon!!!
ya i think that guys problem was too much sunlight i dont think the sand was to blame but who knows... might just throw off the water chem
