Black Diamond substrate

Anyone heard of this stuff? You can get it at Tractor Supply. It is small pieces of coal slag used as blasting media, but people are using it in their tanks...Any words of wisdom or caution??

wash it well and it will be fine. and yes u can buy it a tsc,5olb bags.. a whole lot cheaper than the pet store and looks great to boot

I had it in my old tank for years and like it a lot. Kinda wish I had it in my current one. As stated above rinse it real good

I have a bit of mixed with PFS in my 130, and as a stand alone substrate in my 65. It's great looking stuff.
