I recomend blasting this black diamond material, it may contain metal though

I just put it in my tank, and I really like how it came out.

I have it mixed with other substrate in my 120g plant tank. I've had no problems with it.

How do you rinse it out? Obviously i cant use a strainer like gravel.

Put it in a 5 gallon bucket with a hose run water let the lite stuff float to the top and overflow from the bucket also mix it up with your hand

I use this stuff and is awesome, fine with rays and bottom dwellers etc... To rins it out I just filled a plastic tub with the sand, filled with water, rinsed then pured away dirty water and rtepeated 3 times for each load, took a while but the stuff is quite dirty so needs it.
