 ok i saw i video on youtube of a black discus is it a real discus is it sick i am just mindblown and really want to know if these are a real thing ? if they are where in the world can i get one they look so cool

can you post a link to the video so we would be better able to help you out by seeing the fish :)

I think its stressed but if it was a true fish I think it would be a Melanistic (sp) discus , I have seen snookin21 catch some black gars and they are solid black so I know it could happen ... so in all reality it could go either way .. only way to tell is if he gives an update a few months down the road

there are no black discus. it's either sick or a freak of nature. he says it has no bars but if you look it does have them.

I agree,it definitely had/has bars.First thing I noticed which is why I said it's stressed and in poor health.
I am sure nothing is "impossible" and they could be blending with the surroundings like leaf litter and mud but still, I don't think that's the case or all discus would probably do this which isn't the case as we all know.

Yep, my next question is, as wonderful genetically modifying humans, make a black discus?
I think it's funny that we are mezmerized by a black discus when they come in so many other colors, lol

I've seen sick or stressed discus. Yes, they get dark, but not that dark. That thing looks pitch black, face, mouth, everything. My guess would be a rare melanistic mutation. Rare, but not impossible.
