Ugh, same here. Those "black devil's" look sooo good imo. I'm guessing it's a type of melanism. Either way tho they look gorgeous and I would totally gets some if only I had a spare tank set up.May have some Saggitae in its gene pool. When first discovered they were all black in color and got the common name Black Devils.

Yeah definitely an odd one that's for sure. Usually when a fader fades so do the pearls to an extent but this one seems to have is pearls in full color rather then being pale. Definitely an odd fish. Wonder if OP has any pics of the parents at all or if they could gets some pics of em. Might be able to make more sense of it if we could see the parents.This is odd, the black color faded but his pearls are not fader like. Not sure if it is fading at all.
