I went to a lfs and they have a tank around 100g and in the tank i saw a black fish with a little red on its belly. The only fish they put in that tank are fh some black belts a few parrots and 1 red devil. So my question is would the black fish be a fh or a black belt. It has red eyes and is solid black with a red belly spot. I can get some pics later when I go buy blood worms.

An actual true black flowerhorn would be really nice I think. I have seen some parrot/flowerhorn/tex crosses that were kind of a blackish but they didn't have a hump and weren't that attractive. They didn't look like they would ever fade but who knows...

I agree that if it was a flowerhorn it would most likley be a fader. I have never seen a full black flowerhorn or even heard of one but some faders will turn totally black during the fading process. I have some jet black blood parrots right now for the same reason lol. If it has red eyes it is most likley a flowerhorn. But the body shape will be the telltale sign
