I am in San Diego and I bought my black fine gravel from Pet Kindom 3191 Sports Arena Blvd. 619-224-2841 (I just google the address)

I use Estes Black Special black gravel. its coated but holds up well over time (check my sig. for my build thread).

however, its not super fine though.

another option might be the 'eco complete' plant stuff, which is fine and black too.
