Alot more oddly. No eyes 150. Both eyes? 1200. Black lng?(when they appear) 300 to 500 is acerage. Never seen a black shorty but id luv to procure one

they show up a lot more (relatively speaking) during spawning season because many males (even some immature ones) will turn black or at least darker during that season. they will often revert to "normal" pattern after the season or when taken out of the natural spawning environment.

After that comment bout without eyes I remembered that one time when I was bout 7 fishing in the Missouri with my dad we caught a almost solid black longnose gar with no eyes. We didn know what it was so we released it but now I know what it was. Thanks all
