id like to keep two b ghost with 1 oscar, also two plecs.common and a gib.

they will be going in a 150gal with a 40gal sump.

Q1:will the ghost be good with oscar and plecs?

Q2:im worried that the oscar might steal all the food from the ghosts, has anyone ever feeding at night (for the ghosts).

please help me if you can see any problems i might have.
thanx.

I would be concerned about the BGK's. Oscars can be nasty, I know mine is. the Common pleco may also pose a threat.

1) maybe but tbh I doubt it would work in the long run.

2) i have 3 fire eels i feed at night sometimes, my O sees just as well at night as he does dureing the day. tbh he's more boisterous at night sometimes. and will eat whenever food is presented day/night whenever it hits the water.

I could be wrong, as I've never actualy tried this combination of tank mates. But I have an O, and have kept BGK's and commons 'n gibby's before. Just not all together.

i have 2 oscars in my 125 and one BGK in my 55. I'd worry about mixing the two, unless they BGK was a bit larger than the oscars and all of them were pruchased as juveniles. if you try to introduce older fish to one another, i feel that you increase your risk of conflict. i have mixed oscars with fish that many mfkers would consider a bad mix. i think it boils down to size of the potential aggressor versus the size of the fish expected to be harassed.

I have a full grown tiger oscar in a 540 liter tank with a 10 inch BGK and it works fine, they were both small when i got them and i was worried at first but my O is pretty chilled out with his tank mates, as long as the BGK has plenty of hiding spots its shold be fine i use a mix of floating and sinking pellets so the BGK can get the sinking ones....when he was small i would hide food for him i a skull dectoration, he lernt to go there for food, now he is so big he bearly fits in the skull! Over the time i had my BGK i have also had 2 other O's that i dont have any more and i never had any problems between the O's and BGK. It has worked for me :)

thans guys.
i am planning on getting the bgk an oscar as babies. the plecs are at 3inc and 4inches.

forgot to mention its probaly only best on have 1 BGK, they generally get recommended as 1 per tank.
Also if possibal get a BGK that is bigger then ur O just to give him a head start.

yes, if you buy a bgk, just buy one, they either tend to fight a lot or be overly shy and may starve to death if kept more than one in a tank... but some people had succes with multiple bgks but that are exceptions
