I recently purchased a 5 inch Black Ghost Knife at a LFS. It is currently in a 55 gallon tank with a Striped Raphael Catfish. I don't know why, but the black color on the Black Ghost Knife is fading. The color seemed normal during the day today, but seemed like it is fading at night. This happened two nights in a row. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks!

Some fish become more dull in color at night time. I think this helps them blend in? I am not sure if the BGK is one that does it though.
I have one but I don't look in my tank after lights off usually..plus he is pretty sneaky so no point anyways, so can't be of help there, sorry.
What are your water parameters? (pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate). How did you acclimate him?
