i dont think it will work cause cichlids usualy bite other slower fish's fins or else ask at a petshop

I completely disagree with this response to your question... Black Ghost Knifes are the farthest thing from a "slower fish"...

I also think asking at a Pet Store is bad advice. Here, you have many many experienced hobbyists willing to share our thoughts based on our experience. our only motive is to help others... at the pet store they have the motice to sell you a fish... I'm not saying all Pet Shops give bad advice... but since your here, I feel you would be MUCH better off trusting advice offered by people with experience on the subject matter...

I don't keep African Cichlids, but I've raised several BGKs with SA/CA Cichlids and have never had aggression or feeding issues while doing so. My Cichlids and my knives rarely acknowledge each other and the only time I ever see any aggression between them is when the BGK will feast on the eggs/fry of a breeding pair of Cichlids. Having seen that happen several times I must say that BGKs are MUCH tougher than people give them credit for...

I do agree with the advice given above not to house more than one BGK in the same tank... I've tried this on a few occasions and have never had it work out...

I have a 75 gallon with yellow labs, acei, bumblebees and demasoni, and a bgk. I have seen absolutely NO aggression! On either part! And where I keep seeing other people talking about how their bgk hides all the time, mine is out in the open almost all day and evening!

Housing 2 BGK probably won't work unless you have a very large aquarium. As for the African Cichlid...some people have had some success with it, some haven't.
