could a 6" BGK be ok in a 55 with 3 bichir 2 catfish and a 6" EBJD?

Should be fine. Just have plenty of hiding spots. What kind of Catfish? Polys will like to hide out now and then. It'll be good to have plenty of hiding spots to prevent any aggression. BGK can get pretty territorial and can get nippy with fish that get close to it's territory.

I highly doubt it. The bichirs are more likely than the BGK to get eaten by the lima (not that that's a high risk either though).

I worry about the bichirs, BGK have the long and skinny body type that would be perfect for bichirs to "snake" down their mouth.

Bichirs or catfish, you should probably worry no matter what!
