columbus
im getting a 210 and i was wondering if they would be good because i know nothing about them and if you could send me some picks and just give me some info on them that would be great

Are you from Columbus OH ? Because I am too...
Anyways. I hear they can grow to 18 inches. I got mine about a month ago, he's about 4 inches. He's gradually come to accept me as part of the tank, he'll come out and feed from my hand. He eats flakes, shrimp pellets, cucumber, loves tubifex and blood worms. He isnt the least bit agressive, he hasnt killed a ghost shrimp (that I'm aware of), but that may be because he's still a bit small. Doesnt even bother the glass cats in there. By far the coolest fish I've ever had.

Yeh, I've just been pretty gentle with him. I've let him come to me, just gradually working with him. When he swims up your arm, it feels like silk.

Mainly what I've heard is dont put them with aggressive fish, or fish that will fit into their mouths. Also cant house them with any other fish that uses electrolocation, or any type of electric field (ie, elephant nose, other knives). A friend of mine had a BGK, and lost 5 adult guppies over about 3 days, always at night.

a bgk would be good but you gotta make sure it doesnt get beat up by the cichlids you want, btw evercl what part of columbus you from?

I've got 2 BKG in my 2.5ft tank, got them both...maybe a year ago? can't exactly remember but when i got them they were 2", now one's pushing 9" and the other 6-7". They are extremely peaceful with other fish, doens't figt with them, just slides inbetween these rock cave things that I made for them.

However, they do get aggresive with their own kind. My smaller BKG has broken fins and well, smaller because he's been bullied by my other one, which eats well and has perfect fins and colour, therefore grows faster!

I recommend some, btu makes sure they all have places to hide because from my experience, they will get abit nippy! But otherwise, they are the best fish I have at the moment!
