Alright ladies and gentlemen. I recently got into a discussion on the sight of a Black Ghost Knife, and thought I'd try to get some other opinions on this, not really involving the poll, but posts from others with their thoughts.
I had said that the BGK have very poor eyesight, and depend on their electric 'pulse' to move around the aquarium and also help locate food and tank-mates.
The other opinion was that they have very good eyesight, and that the idea of them having poor eyesight is a myth.
Now, I didn't feel like arguing over the matter trying to prove myself right, so I thought I would have you guys do it for me. :D lol
I have heard that they have good eyesight before, just never really believed it. :grinno: But that descision isn't miner anymore, so lets see some responses!

I'll vote GOOD aswell then, as I know they have very good eyesight.

It might be hard to believe, as their eyes are tiny, they dont need them, and they are nocturnal, but there have been studies to show it, and I have kept BGK's - including my current one - that react to movements outside the tank, and follow me from one side of the room to the other, etc.

I suspect most people will vote with their 'knowledge' which will repeat what most sources think. So you will win the poll.

I don't care about the poll, just trying to get some other thoughts on this theory. ;) Discussion is key! :)

They have evolved something similar to radar which is why I use clear tubing. My 14" clown will only leave the clear tube when the light is off but will ambush from the safety of his tube. By using a clear tube it allows them to feel safe and secure while still leaving ample opportunity to view your nocturnal specimen.

Thats a little trick an my pops taught me more than a decade before I was ever involved with keeping fish.

Poll: Great vision.
