My black ghost knife took a pretty large hit today from my clown knife, from the looks of the open wounds, I would say he was halfway in his tube at the time of the hit. At first, he started spinning recklessly and spitting out large amounts of sand that I guess he inhaled at the time. Afterwards he wasn't moving and I assumed he was dead. I got him separated from the other fish and after a few minutes he started moving his gills slightly. I set up a hospital tank with a small amount of melafix, and after about a half hour he started moving all his fins again. Unfortunately, he now seems to have a curve in his back, and can't seem to "un-curve" himself. I looked into it through various threads, and have determined that it's either a broken back, or it could possibly just be from the trauma of what happened. Since he's able to move all of his fins, I'm not convinced his spine is severed. I'll post some pics, my camera shots are of poor quality though. One wound is right on his head, the other is about 2/3 back along his spine. The placement of these wounds may have something to do with the sudden curvature of his spine (I'm hoping that's all it is). 2 hours in now, and he seems quite a bit more active than at first. Any input or advice on this would be greatly appreciated, at the moment I believe all I can do is wait it out and see what happens.

I would remove the melafix via 75% water change and add Methylene blue at one teaspoon per ten gallons. after 24 hour change 50% of the water and treat with Neoplex (Neomycin). The fishes back doesn't appear to be broken, keep the tank dark and let the fish rest.
