My black ghost knife is laying on the bottom and not really moving but its still eating. Is there anything wrong with it?

how big is he?
does he have a hidey hole to lay in? they do lay down, but not out in the open if there's something to squeeze in, under, against or whatever. they'll even lay in plants broad leaves.

Get a Ghost Tube. Its basically a see thru tube thats VERY popular with ghost knives and other fish that hide!
