I have an 80-gallon tank with some peacock cichlids, 3 blood parrot cichlids, a rainbow cichlid, 4 different ram cichlids, a black ghost knife (most think 75 gallons is the minimum but I'm getting a 265-gallon next year and I think I'll move it there in 2 yrs), gold gourami and 3 siamese algae eaters and a redtail shark

Water parameters: -ammonia = 0ppm, nitrite = 0ppm, nitrate = (hard to tell cuz my test kit only has nitrate at [white: 0, light purple: 10, purple: 20, dark purple: 40 and darker up until 100 so my results were lighter purple than the 10)

I had my ghost knife with the shark and parrots first (5 fish) and all of them like to hide and the knife just sticks his head into some cave and stays there occasionally coming out but I feed them: cichlid pellets, bloodworms and occasionally brine shrimp (have micro pellets and flakes but only for the 10 and 40-gallon) The parrots steal all the food and same with the peacocks. I manage to feed them all cuz all cichlids stay on left side and shark, algae eaters and ram cichlids stay on the right so I switch sides and they all eat except for the knife which occasionally I stick a clump of bloodworms and cichlids outside its cave which when it comes out and finds the clump an sucks it up but it only happened not a lot and I'm afraid it'll starve. It gets scared when I try hand-feeding but all the other fish seem fine with hand feeding.

Note: I have 80lbs of Supernaturals sand mix for the substrate and a Fluval 407 canister filter

What are your ideas? How can I feed it? I realize these animals are shy and nocturnal so I feed it around 9 pm-ish. How can I get him to eat? Will it be fine? (No signs of visible disease)

Tbh you have too many fast eater's. I suggest moving the BGK.

So I keep many black African knives. I am Aware they are not the same fish as your black ghost. I could never get mine fed through the day. Try target feeding on a night time. They ate like mad during the darker hours

Mine couldn't live with smaller cichlids, they definitely can't hack it with africans. Re-home, or, alternatively either move him or buy another tank. Mine who is now at 6 inches eates massivore sinking carnivore pellets, frozen mysis shrimp and bloodworms on occasion. He's probably not eating because your other much more aggressive fish are getting to the food first.

Just move the BGK. Mine is just in with a few acaras and even then i give him his own meal after darj just to give him a **** at food.

Helpful info! Just got a Pom Pom... afer...

He’s only with 4 Bichir and a pleco.... was gonna add Congo tetra, think not such a good idea now...

BFK are shy but quite smart. Just feed it through hollow pipe so you can place food directly in /near his cave.

Earthworms will be hugely appreciated.
