Black Hujeta Gar

Its seem that one of my Hujeta gars are black in coloration, i haven't noticed it until it has grown a bit. Is there something wrong with it or its just another coloration rare types? Nothing seems to be different other then that its a little distant from the other Hujeta's.

I got pics to compare, but they aren't that good. The black one is darker then he looks in the pic. It was even taken while he was atop of the tank where its most brightest.

when i have my light off on my tank, my hujeta's tails turn dark as well. i was concerned but was reassured its s'alright

OT question, how big do these guys really grow? because there is a 2" specimen at my LFS now and i wanna buy it coz it's just $2

they max out at 10-12" in captivity, females being larger. If your planning to get some make sure you get a tank with length over height, and get more then one, they are a schooling fish that like to swim in groups no less then 3.
