i've noticed lately that the oranda/lionhead i got my mom last year, has started losing its black which kinda sucks since it was the only reason i liked it kind of. is there any way to bring it back or prevent it from fading any further? any advice would be appreciated thanks in advanced

here is a terrible pic

Nope sorry bro unfortunately that's just your goldie maturing. He's most likely going to be a solid orange one at full size. Goldfish color is super unpredictable and members on other forums told me color should be the last thing I look at when picking out juvies because more than likely it won't stay the same (except a few examples) especially the black colors lol.

Can't tell that well from the pic, but it looks like there is some sort of sore on its side...that's probably more of a concern than its colors changing! I don't know much about goldfish, but other species can loose color when they're not in optimal health

Black is unstable in most goldfish. If black is what you want, get yourself a Moor.
