I'm going to get a green terror and a couple of pictus catfish as soon as my tank is cycled, the petsmart near my apartment has green terror juveniles that are like a gold tan color with a few blue marks around the face with orange edging on the fins, the petsmart at home has green terror juveniles that are near black with orange edging on the fins. Why are they different, is it a different species or a mood thing? Will it affect the color of the fish as an adult? I am leaning toward getting the near black ones but I have'nt seen any black green terror juvies on here before.

Lots of things can make them look like that. Color of the substrate, mood , water parameters , over all stress level ect. Once they get settled in a new home they'll lighten up.

^^^ agree its, stress really causes a big change in colour and you might be just seeing stressed out fish

:iagree:

Unless they look like they're about to die, it doesn't matter which ones you get . The stress could just be from being packed into those tiny little tanks with too many tankmates for comfort. Getting a dark one could be doing it a favor.
