if the black ghost knife is too small you risk it getting eaten by the bichirs. you should just keep 1 in your tank.
thats because its an lfs and thats not long term. your bgk is way to small he wont last with the 2 6 inch sengals
Ive had a BGK around...9" with 3 bichers, ornate 10", senegal 11", albino senegal 10" and they got along fine. If anything, the BGK pushes around the bichers when there is food and sometimes even the BGK and 2 bichers would hide in the same cave ornament that i keep in my tank. try to get a bigger BGK. The women i bought mine from (for $5 may i add =) ) had 2 BGK since they were small, along with 2 oscars. But maybe they were both bought at the same time from the LFS, not too sure. so its not totally a myth that 2 BGKs can be in the same tank.
yes your setup worked because your bgk and bichirs were all within a couple inches. if this was the case i would say go for it. but its not because his bichirs are 2xs the size of his bgk. so if you get a bigger bgk 7" atleast i would say go ahead. goodluck
