Just wondered if their is a downfall for using a black ligjt in your aquarium for night time viewing? I used mine for about a week thinking it would be nice for the fish to simulate moon light but it appears that it causes quick algae growth has anyone every experimented with black lights or can anyone recomend a good lighting to accent your tank at night.
Thanks everyone
David

Id just recommend a moon light... they sell for about $20 each, plug it in, boom done.... even just 1 has powered a 75gallon for me before... sometimes less is more in this case, not necessary to blast your tank with thousands of moon lights or some ridiculous # like some do.....

I agree, the blacklight may be too bright, go with moon lights.

Thanks for the info, I live in a small town in oregon were the local pet store bairly can stay open and their shelfs are bare so ill check online for the moonlight setup. Locally they want 35 bucks for the moonlight kit and 20 for the additional plug in lights. Thanks
